In superpave mix design procedure, in AASHTO TP4, aging time for loose mix was
propose for 2 hour and 135 oC. But now, i found that tihis time is 4 hour or 2
hour according to mechanical properties or water absorption.. Besdies, in
AASHTO r30, it isi proposed that aging temperature is equal to compaction
temperature..there is not clearly information about this subject. In mix
design, what must i take as aging time and aging temperature for loose mix?

R30-02(2006) is the correct referrence, where: For mixture conditioning for
volumetric mixture design, a mixture of aggregate and binder is conditioned in
a forced-draft oven for 2 h at the mixture's specified compaction temperature.
For short-term mixture conditioning for mechanical property testing, a mixture
of aggregate and binder is conditioned in a forced-draft oven for 4 h at 135C.
For long-term mixture conditioning for mechanical property testing, a compacted
mixture of aggregate and binder is conditioned in a forced-draft oven for five
days at 85C.
