Please provide comments regarding experience purchasing, installing, and longevity of encapsulated cables for axle class and/or WIM. Recommendations regarding 6 foot or 11 foot lengths of cables. Did the vendor provide installation guide or a warrantee?

Tony-
The manufacturer of the piezo strips that we recommend for use with our 5700 Series Classifier/Timing counters offers excellent instruction on the proper installation of the strips. They have a sheet that is to be filled out and returned to them for each install so that they may keep track. Much like the little registration cards that one gets inside a new appliance. They want to know who's installing their product where and under what conditions. They also offer video instruction via their web site. As they are the only ones that I have personally dealt with, I cannot speak to other manufacturer's practices, but this manufacturer has a superior product line as well as excellent support. As to the longevity of such things, as with everything else one imbeds in a roadway- depends on how well it was installed and maintained. The manufacturer tells me they should hold up 3-5 years under good circumstances. Hope this helps. If anyone is interested in knowing which manufacturer I refer to, feel free to give me a call. I try to stay away fro turning this into a marketplace.
