The Federal Highway Administration Tennessee Division in conjunction with the FHWA Resource Center is sponsoring a workshop on Methodologies for CMAQ Project Air Quality Benefit Evaluations on March 10, 2005 in TN. This one-day workshop consists of two different components. In the morning part (3 hours), materials covering available methods for virtually all eight major CMAQ project categories are offered. All methods are transparent and do not involve the "Black Box" travel modeling. The easy to follow step-by-step manual computation procedure for a given project is not only comprehensive and more importantly comprehensible. The afternoon session is devoted to issues and methods participants have. Participants are encouraged to bring their CMAQ projects and issues associated with the air quality benefit analysis to the class. The Division and Resource Center members will work on the method and issue with the rest of the participants to develop an acceptable solution. To register for this class, please contact: Maureen Bluhm, Community Planner &Air Quality Specialist, Phone: 615-695-4096; Maureen.Bluhm@FHWA.DOT.GOV ;Federal Highway Administration, 640 Grassmere Park Road, Suite 112, Nashville, TN 37211 For more information on the class, please contact Tianjia Tang, PE, Ph.D., FHWA-Resource Center, Tianjia.Tang@FHWA.DOT.GOV or Joon Byun, Ph.D., FHWA-Resource Center, Joon.Byun@FHWA.DOT.GOV
