The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) in conjunction with the
Federal Highway Administration intends to receive bids by pre-qualified ITS
contractors for the construction of a multi-million dollar ITS project to
repair and upgrade the Fog Detection and Warning System on Interstate 10 across
Mobile Bay in Mobile and Baldwin Counties in south Alabama.
It is anticipated that sealed bids will be opened and publicly read on December
7, 2007. Only bids from specially pre-qualified contractors will be received.

or any other aspect of the proposed project please refer to the "Project
Letting Information" page of the ALDOT Web site, www.dot.alabama.gov or contact
the ALDOT Bureau of Office Engineer at 334-242-6441.
Subject: Highway 84 id. between 331 and 84 on Veterans Memorial Highway
This last weekend I had the occasion to visit Elba, Al. As I approached Opp
the Business 84 sign was apparent and I assumed that to continue would be alt.
84. To my dismay 84 became 331 with no indication that 84 would intersect
ahead. Locals had been using Veterans Mem. Hwy. without the realization of the
lack of markings. As a visitor I strongly incourage the marking of an alt. 84
between 331 and the current 84.
