The dynamics of the workforce are constantly changing resulting in new opportunities and challenges. The highway community has acknowledged the future workforce challenges that it faces and is supportive to the need for more action in workforce development. The transportation industry must focus on the workforce pipeline, workplace practices, and professional development to ensure it can meet its future needs. Keeping this in mind, six strategic concepts were developed to facilitate planning and action among highway community stakeholders. This community topic area has been established to begin the dialogue around these six concepts. Please share your thoughts and ideas!
