Operations Knowledge Communities

It has been 3 years since the FHWA published and distributed the document entitled, Travel Better, Travel Longer: A Pocket Guide for Improving Traffic Control and Mobility of Our Older Population. This pocket guide highlights specific traffic situations that are particularly troublesome for older roadway users (such as left turns and temporary traffic control zones) and provides information on the use of traffic control devices to maximize safety in these circumstances. The FHWA is interested to learn whether or not this pocket guide has been useful in assisting transportation professionals in making decisions related to roadway improvements for older road users.
