The System Performance Measurement section of the website is intended to provide a forum for practitioners that are interested in performance measurement issues, specifically related to the role of performance measures in evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of transportation systems and services. System performance measures address the physical condition (e.g., pavement quality, bridge condition, transit fleet age, etc.) as well as the operational performance of a multimodal transportation system (e.g., delay, on-time performance, etc.). We hope you make the most of this opportunity to share your ideas and even your failures, so that we all can benefit from our collective experiences. With the ever-increasing budget tightening in most states, this process can benefit all state DOT's with the overall goal of maximizing the utilization of scarce resources.
